Ms. Faith, a Black, Indigenous, and Jewish Trans Woman, is an internationally known and renowned artist, activist, and Mother to many..

Born in 1982, she hails from southern California’s, Inland Empire and L.A. Harbor Area. Known internationally for her multidisciplinary artistic prowess and musical contributions, Phillips has dedicated her life to advocating for trans rights and raising awareness about the struggles faced by marginalized communities, specifically trans people, prisoners, and sex workers.

In 2020, she established "Wish Me Luck Tattoo," Chicago's pioneering Black, trans, and queer-owned tattoo shop. This vibrant space became a symbol of hope and acceptance for those often marginalized by society. She created a space that reflected and responded to her own journey through pain and resilience; Phillips created a sanctuary that fostered a sense of belonging and empowerment.

Phillips' remarkable journey is intertwined with her activism, which extends beyond the tattoo shop's walls. She is renowned for her impactful work in supporting prisoners and victims of sex trafficking. While incarcerated, she discovered her passion for tattooing and used her talent to help inmates express their emotions through art. Phillips emerged as an advocate for prisoners, aiming to eliminate the financial barriers to tattoo removal for individuals reentering society and seeking a fresh start.

She organized a protest that brought the institution to a standstill for four days. This event led to the cancellation of a dangerous transfer for a fellow queer prisoner. It also sparked a series of demands, including HIV and sex education, the return of gender-appropriate clothing, Hormone Replacement Therapy, and the establishment of queer, prisoner run support groups. As a result of this protest, she was successful in securing every demand made and the safety of LGBTQIA+ inmates.

Beyond her activism within the prison system, Phillips has ventured into the world of immersive art with her latest project, "Carceral Cruising." This groundbreaking endeavor tells the stories of both Phillips and marginalized individuals in the queer community who have been affected by the criminal justice system. "Carceral Cruising" serves as a powerful testament to Phillips' commitment to amplifying marginalized voices and using art as a tool for change, empathy, and transformation.

As of now, Phillips continues to shine as a beacon of resilience, activism, and authenticity. Through her journey, she exemplifies the power of standing up against adversity, fostering community, and using art to spark meaningful change. Her current project, "Carceral Cruising," further showcases her dedication to shedding light on the stories often left untold and challenging societal norms through immersive and impactful art experiences.
